My TaeKwonDo

I have been in TaeKwondo for seven years now. I have loved it all the years I've done it. To help out the people in our TaeKwonDo school I practice one steps, forms, and sometimes their breaking. A couple things I like about TaeKwonDo are meeting new people. You can make great friends in TaeKwonDo. I also like learning new kicks.

I can challenge myself to do better on the kicks I have already learned. My favorite technique is a step reverse. I like it because it is a very powerful kick. In TaeKwonDo I have developed a way of leader ship in the following ways, leading stretches and kicks during class, helping lower belts forms or anything they need help on. Practicing self-defense in class has not only taught me how to defend myself if someone grabs me, but  also how to take someone down carefully and have full control over what I'm doing.
TaeKwonDo has also been a place where I can have me time and not have to worry about friends or family or any other problems I have. I can focus on what I need to work on. What do I do to help out my dojang? I help out by mopping the floors, keeping the paddles and bags neatly organized, and helping the students before class or after class on anything they need to work on so they are ready for test. TaeKwonDo is also a really fun thing to do with your family, it can bring your family closer together. One benefit in having family in TaeKwonDo is if you are practicing at home and you are stuck you can ask one of them instead of having to wait until your next TaeKwonDo class.

Snow training- I think snow training is a really good thing to do. It makes your feet a lot tougher, and it helps your feet get stronger so it will help breaking boards a little easier.  One time we did a demo in the rain, there was a skit I had to do and I was so nervous I would slip on the mats, luckily I didn't and got right through it. Some of the black belts broke bricks in the rain, they were almost an inch deep into water and yet they all broke them successfully. In the end the audience loved it.

In closing I'd like to thank my dad/instructor for taking me to class and helping me to learn all these new things. I would also like to thank him for always making me go to class(even when I didn't want to).
