Tae Kwon Do

I think Tae Kwon Do has helped me be more confident in myself. It has made me think of the tenants of Tae Kwon Do; courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control, and indomitable spirit. I use the tenets to help me with school, sports, and forms.

Tae Kwon Do is a fun martial art. I started Tae Kwon Do because I wanted to be like my mom, who is a third degree black belt. I love teaching new things and I also love when I can help out on a one step, if someone gets stumped. I help my sisters with forms and help them practice.

I have 5 people in my family in Tae Kwon Do, my mom, who is a third degree black belt, my sister, Lily, who is a temporary black belt (and testing with me today), my other sister, Claire, who is a 1st temporary brown belt, and my brother, Carter, who is a first degree black belt. They can help me with forms, one-steps, and basic movements.
Tae Kwon Do has provided me with great experiences, like going to Colorado and seeing things I haven’t seen in life like Kim Chi, bear rock, a real life bear, and an elk. If it weren’t for Tae Kwon Do I would not have experienced those things.

I am so thankful for Tae Kwon Do. It makes me stronger each day. Tae Kwon Do is a fun thing I can do with my friends and family. I use power in my forms and pretend like I’m defending myself from four people at once.

Tae Kwon Do teaches you to break boards and spar. My favorite kick is the tornado kick. Tae Kwon Do brings people together. I love hanging with some of my best friends: Abbie and MacKenzie, they are brown belts.

When I was in Colorado I sat on Grand Master Jung’s lap. Grand Master Jung calls Allison, Lily, Amanda and me “Edgewood Gangsters”. He calls my little sister Claire and her friend Emma “Baby Gangsters”.

Tae Kwon Do makes me happy. Tae Kwon Do has given me the opportunity to treat others as my family and they have become like family.

If I had to choose Tae Kwon Do over school I would most definitely choose, of course, Tae Kwon Do. I go to Tae Kwon Do to learn self-defense in case of an issue, like somebody is in a fight. I also do Tae Kwon Do because it teaches me to protect myself.
At home I practice Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do is one of the best experiences in my entire life. I love testing and practicing Tae Kwon Do. I don’t know what I would do if it weren’t a part of my life.  I would be missing out on so many things, like a wonderful instructor, power, and a wonderful family in Tae Kwon Do.

If it were not for Tae Kwon Do life would not be the same. I love you Tae Kwon Do for teaching me to defend myself, helping me to stay confident, and keeping me strong.
