Allison Tibbott--2nd Dan

December 14, 2013

Six months later…..and here ready to test for my 1st Dan.  For me I feel it has taken a lot more balance. At school I am no longer in the little kid building, I am now in the big kid building. Since I have started junior high I have been involved in volleyball and basketball. Since I am in all those sports I have to try and balance my games, practices, and Tae Kwon Do. When I am playing these sports I try and use all my tenants of Tae Kwon Do. I use Courtesy when I have to shake the others team's hands after the game even if we lose the game. I use Integrity when I try and do a flying side kick because I feel determined that I can break the board and, when I am not in Tae Kwon Do I use it when I try to spike the ball or when I try and shoot the ball or try to make a lay up. I use Perseverance because the last two months it has been hard for me to attend regular and black belt classes.  I use perseverance in basketball because we haven't won a game this season so I have to try and work my hardest so then I don't bring the team down. I use Self-Control when I am free sparing with a lower ranking belt. I also use Self -Control when I when I spike the ball in volleyball so I don't go into the net. I use Indomitable Spirit when I am doing a flying side- kick because I have to keep trying to get better at my kick. I also have to have Indomitable Spirit when I am doing my forms because I have to try and get better at them all the time. Also when I am doing 1 steps. I have to really try hard to get better at theses so I know then before I test for my new belt, and I have to have Indomitable Spirit when I am studying my meanings of my forms so I can stick with it and try and remember them for test. I am glad that on November 10th I decided to go to a class and see if I would like it. Tae Kwon Do has helped me become even better at the sports that I play. I have got to meet a lot of new people since I have tested for my temporary belt. Like Laisee Shakespear and her mom Kyla Shakespear. I have got to see a lot of interesting black belt tests. Which has inspired me to get to this point as I test for my 1st Dan black belt. I would to thank Grand Master for helping me at black belt classes to get to know my forms better. I also would like to thank my best friend in the whole wide world Lily for getting me started in Tae Kwon Do. I also would like to thank my parents for investing the time and money to this point and encouraging me to get to this point. I would like to thank one more person and that is my instructor. I would like to thank him for all he has done for me like help me with my forms, having a dojang close to home, and for helping me get to the point I am at right now.
